A product name on a PDF is not enough to establish this match. What matters is the link between the product, batch, submitted sample and corresponding report.<\/p>\n<h2>1. Compare the product and batch details<\/h2>\n<p>Record the product name, product number and batch identifier from the label, then compare them with the certificate. Sigma-Aldrich's document search also illustrates that batch details are the central search key: it uses the lot\/batch number to find COAs. Product number and pack size are different details.<\/p>\n<p>A different identifier does not automatically mean the report is wrong: a filling facility and a testing laboratory may use different references. However, the supplier must provide a traceable link between them. This connection should not simply be assumed.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Read the scope of the report, not just the result<\/h2>\n<p>Use this checklist for your records:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Identification:<\/strong> Which sample, batch and product are named?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Origin:<\/strong> Who carried out the testing, and can the report number be traced through the named laboratory?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Date:<\/strong> When was the sample examined? Is a version or addendum identifiable?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Method:<\/strong> Which test produced the result?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Result:<\/strong> Are the measured value, unit and, where applicable, limit of detection or quantification given?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scope:<\/strong> Which tests are explicitly missing or not mentioned at all?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This list is an editorial working aid, not a certification standard. It helps you formulate specific queries.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Do not interpret purity as a quantity<\/h2>\n<p>Purity and net peptide content are different measurements. If a report gives only chromatographic purity, it should not be used to infer a specific amount of peptide per container. Sigma-Aldrich describes quantitative amino acid analysis as one way of determining net peptide content.<\/p>\n<h2>Frequently asked question: What should you do if the link is unclear?<\/h2>\n<p>A precise query would be: \u201cPlease link report number X to batch Y shown on my label and specify the associated testing methods.\u201d Keep the response with the original report.
